Stomach Problems

Worms in the stomach

Take handful of tender leaves of neem, one piece dry ginger and little omam and grind to tablets and keep. Give three tablets in empty stomach with little salt. You can take this tablets even otherwise regularly once a month

Indigestion

1 Take 2 tsp each of Ajwain and dried ginger
Make them into a fine powder
Add a little black salt
Take 1 tsp of this mixture with 1 cup of warm water frequently

2 1 tbsp each dried ginger, long pepper, cumin, curry leaves, ajwain & black pepper
Roast them all slightly
Separately fry 1 tsp asafoetida in 1 tsp gingelly oil
Mix all together and powder; add a little rock salt and store in bottle
Mix 1 tsp in steamed rice along with ghee and eat

3 Take a ripe banana with milk while going to sleep

4 Make fine powder of 1 tsp each of cardamom and saunf
take ¼ tsp with water twice daily after meals

5 Take fresh juice of 2 tsp coriander leaves
Mix with one cup of butter milk and take it 3 times

6 Take equal quantities of
Cumin seeds /jeera, pepper and dried ginger and shade dried curry leaves
Powder them and add a little salt to taste
Add this mixture to steamed rice, add ghee and eat

7 Sprout fenugreek seeds and eat with break fast

8 Take 1 tsp each of dried ginger, saunf and clove and powder
add honey and make it a paste and preserve
Take 1 tsp 15 mts after each meal and before bed time

9 Soak cumin seeds in lime juice overnight
Dry it in the sun and bottle
Chew ½ tsp after food and take a glass of warm water
Do it for few days

10Soak 1 tbsp pudina leaves to 1 cup of water for 30 mts. Take thrice a day

11 Boil 1 tsp mint leaves in 1 cup water and take it out of fire
add ½ tsp powdered cardamom seeds; mix and drink

12 Mix 1 tsp each of juice of mint and lime with 1 tsp honey; take 3 times a day

13 Mix ¼ tsp each of powdered cumin and pepper in a glass of butter milk
Take three times a day for three days

14 Take 10 raisins and eat. Incase of infants, boil the same in water, stain and give the water to the child

15 Take new young neem leaves and grind them with turmeric and shade dry. Take a little every day

16 take the kernel of mango from within the seeds, dry and make powder. Take with honey

17 Oman plus seerakam be soaked in boiling water and then drink when you had taken too much of food

18 To avoid diarrhea, dry sundaikkai vathal in ghee and take with rice

19 After heavy meals, if there is stomach pain, keep a little omam and little rock salt in betal leaf and chew

20 Hand grind kadipatta or neem leaves and add to butter milk and drink

21 Make a thuvaial of kadipatta, ginger, Dhaniya, chillis, salt and tamarind and eat with food

22 Add two teaspoon kadipatta juice to one glass butter milk and drink

23 Grind pepper, jeera and salt and take it with warm water

24 Take half a tea spoon of ajwain seeds with little salt.

25 Take four dates at bed time and drink a glass of warm water – every day

26 Take 2 to 3 pinches of the powder of vasambu with honey every morning in empty stomach

Other digestion disorders

1 Boil 1 tsp cumin seeds in a glass of water
Add 1 tsp fresh juice of coriander leaves
Add a pinch of salt
Drink twice daily after meals for 3 days

2 For severe problems, take five crushed garlic cloves with honey twice a day

3 Suck a ripe mango and top it with a glass of milk

4 Take ½ tsp ground pepper with 1 tbsp jaggery powder

5 Take decoction of 20 tulsi leaves with a pinch of rock salt

6. Take omam, three betal leaves, heeng, a little dry ginger and a little of kichen soda and grind them all. Put the paste in warm water and mix well and drink


Gas

1 Take 2 tsp each of Ajwain and dried ginger
Make them into a fine powder
Add a little black salt
Take 1 tsp of this mixture with 1 cup of warm water frequently

2 Insert ¼ tsp of asafoetida into ripe banana and eat

3 Take cumin, black pepper and ginger
Make them into powder
Mix some water and make an infusion
Drink twice a day for few days

4 Boil 1 tsp garlic in 1 cup of milk and take twice a day

5 Take a powdered mixture of 1 tsp each of cardamom and ginger
Add to 1 cup of water
Add a pinch of asafoetida and drink

6 Prepare a decoction of 20 tulsi leaves
Add a pinch of rock salt and drink

7 1 tbsp each dried ginger, long pepper, cumin, curry leaves, ajwain & black pepper
Roast them all slightly
Separately fry 1 tsp asafoetida in 1 tsp gingelly oil
Mix all together and powder; add a little rock salt and store in bottle
Mix 1 tsp in steamed rice along with ghee and eat

Lack of appetite

1 Take sugar candy
Add 2 or 3 drops of clove oil over it
Eat

2 Take equal quantities of Ajwain, Saunf, dried ginger and salt
Mix and powder
Mix a teaspoon of this powder in cooked rice
Mix with ghee and eat frequently

3 Buy fresh Amala
Remove the seed
Grind the pulp into a fine paste
Tie it in a muslin cloth and squeeze out the juice
Take 2 tsp of this juice
Mix it with 2 tsp of honey and lime juice
Add one tea cup of water and drink in empty stomach each morning for 120 days

When fresh amla is not available,
Soak 1 tbsp of dried amla in water overnight in a cup of water
In the morning, add 1/8 tsp of black pepper powder and 2 tsp of lime juice
Add more water and dilute
Drink every morning for 120 days

4 Take some leaves of Bel [Vilvam] and clean them
Grind them into a paste
Take ½ tsp every morning for three days

5 Take 1-inch piece of dried ginger
Cut it into small pieces and boil in 2-cup water
Add milk and sugar and take it frequently like tea

6 Mix ½ tsp of ground pepper with 1 tbsp of jaggery powder
Take it for few days

7 Take 2 oranges a day

8 Take tamarind rasam

Constipation

You may suffer constipation due to various reasons such as

Lack of fibre in your good
Irregular habits
Low water intake
Excessive concern about bowel movement
Taking laxatives

Take adequate fibre in the form of vegetables and fruits. Fibre ensures proper bowel movement. Fiber is the bulk indigestible plant material which converts the liquid into semi solid and helps the colon to push the toxin along the outlet canal. This fibre is present in all vegetables. Fibre from oranges, sweet limes and bananas are very efficient in constipation. Palak or methi also provide excellent fibre. Take also adequate water.

Some people get worried if they don’t pass their motion on any day. Don’t worry about lack of bowel movement for a day or two. The nature ensures that the colon automatically does its work once it does have adequate bulk material. If you take laxatives, it empties all the material in the colon and it takes time for the colon to accumulate again to its hauling capacity. This means another two three days of no motion. The laxative taking person would again be worried if there is no motion every day and he could go again for laxative. This could cause a chain, which is avoidable.

1 Grind 5 tsp almonds
Grind separately 5 tsp of dried dates
Combine and add 10 tsp honey
Take 3 tsp of this mixture twice daily

2 Soak 1 or 2 dried amla in water overnight
Mash and filter next morning
Add honey 1sp and drink

3 Regular intake of ripe banana

4 Mix the pulp of ripe bel fruit with jaggery and eat once a day

5 Take equal quantities of
Cumin seeds /jeera, pepper and dried ginger and shade dried curry leaves
Powder them and add a little salt to taste
Add this mixture to steamed rice, add ghee and eat

6 Boil fenugreek leaves, add honey and take twice daily

7 Take lime juice in a glass of warm water at day break for few days

8 Fry sliced onion shoots in ghee and eat frequently [No to children]

9 Eat papaya frequently

10 Buy fresh amla and shade dry
Make powder from it and store
Every night, just before you go for sleep, take one tsp, add to some hot water. Drink
Follow it by one glass of warm water – it prevents constipation

11 Eat 40 gms of Gulkand with milk every day

12. Powder kadukkai and add to one glass water and boil to half and drink either early morning or before going to bed

13. For young children, soak some raisins in hot water for half an hour. Take out the raisins, squeeze them and make the child drink that water.

14. Chew one tea spoon of ajwain seeds and swallow with a glass ofsalted butter milk

15. Take four dates at bed time and drink a glass of warm water – every day

16. Soak 2 tbsp of raisins in half cup of water for one hour. Take with the water thrice a day

17. Eat gulkand frequently. Aso can eat gulkand with milk

18. Grind some tender tamarind leaves into a fine paste, add a little salt and eat with cooked rice

Nausea

1 Boil 1 tsp mint leaves in 1 cup water and take it out of fire
add ½ tsp powdered cardamom seeds; mix and drink

Eat a pinch of cinnamon powder

Mix powder of fried cloves in 1 cup water and drink

Take 2 tsp of fresh coriander leaves, mix in 1 cup butter milk and take 3 times

Soak cumin seeds in lime juice overnight
Dry it in the sun and bottle
Chew ½ tsp after food and take a glass of warm water
Do it for few days

Mix 1 tsp each of juice of mint and lime with 1 tsp honey; take 3 times a day
Take ¼ th of jathikkai and grind well and take with honey
Take omam, three betal leaves, heeng, a little dry ginger and a little of kichen soda and grind them all. Put the paste in warm water and mix well and drink


Vomitting

Pluck a handful of bel leaves and roast in mud pot
Then boil in 1 cup water; then remove and filter; add sugar if desired
Take half of it in the morning and half in the evening – for 21 days

Roast 20 curry leaves and make an infusion by mixing 1 cup water
Drink

Mix juices of ½ tsp ginger, 1 tsp each of pudina, fresh lime and honey
Take frequently

4 Mix juices of 3 tsp ginger and raw onions and take with honey

Dry fry methi seeds, powder and store. Take one tea spoon plus honey

Take ¼ th of jathikkai and grind well andtakewith honey

Take omam, three betal leaves, heeng, a little dry ginger and a little of kitchen soda and grind them all. Put the paste in warm water and mix well and drink

Stomach pain with urge to go to toilet

Take methi seeds in mouth and drink butter milk along. This can be done even if you pass stools once or twice

Try applying around the naval some castor oil and even put some oil inside the naval

Boil one glass of butter milk, add powder of dry ginger and kadipatta, and mix it with hot rice food and take with salt to taste. Stomach pains with or without loose motion will go.

Diarrhoea

1 Mash 1 ripe banana with a pinch of salt and 1 tsp tamarind pulp
Take twice a day

2 Extract juice from banana flower
Mix 2 tbsp juice with ½ cup curd and take twice a day

3 Take a tender unripe budding fruit of bel
Grind it with 1 tbsp curd and take 2 tsp

4 Take a tender unripe fruit of bel, slice and dry in sun and then powder
Take 1 tsp along with warm water twice a day

5 Boil ¼ tsp powdered cardamom seeds in thin tea water and drink

6 Mix 1 tsp each of powdered ginger, cumin and cinnamon with honey into paste
take 1 tsp thrice daily

7 Soak 3 tsp of coriander seeds in water overnight
Take next morning with 1 cup butter milk

8 Boil 1 tsp cumin seeds in a cup of water
Add to this, 1 tsp fresh juice of coriander leaves and a pinch of salt
Drink twice daily after meals for 3 days

9 Take juice of 20 tender curry leaves, add with honey and drink

10 Grind 3 tsp ginger and 5 tsp sounf into powder. Add honey and make it a paste. Take 1 tsp in tea thrice daily and also before bed time

Take coconut water

Dry fry methi seeds, powder and store. Take one tea spoon plus honey

Take dry ginger, pepper, heeng, salt, jeera and kadipatta. Fry all these and make powder. Put it to hot rice food and add one spoon of hot ghee. Then eat.

In case of loose motion, make thick decoction, add salt and drink without milk three times in the day

Take javvarisi and boil to softness. Add it to butter milk and little salt to taste and take


If dehydration takes place

1 Soak ½ nutmerg in 2 cups of water for 4 hours
Take 1 tsp of this infusion and mix in 1 cup fresh coconut water
Drink thrice a day

2 Take lime juice
You can add a pinch of salt and sugarcane sugar [brown]

3 Add to a glass of water a pinch of salt and 1 tsp of sugar and drink often

Peptic Ulcer

1 Soak 3 bel leaves in a cup of water in copper vessel overnight
Drink early next morning; continue for 40 days

2 Make decoction of athimadhuram and take 1 cup for a month
3 Take Manathakkali leaves as often as possible in food

Deodenal ulcer

1 Boil 1 cup fenugreek leaf and eat with honey twice daily

Intestinal ulcers

1 Take ripe bananas regularly
2 Boil 2 tsp rose flowers in 1 glass water and take the decoction frequently

Abdominal Pain

Check whether it is a case of constipation. If it is due to constipation, try the home medicines given under ‘constipation’ in chapter “Stomach”. For other abdominal pains, you can try any of the following

1 Make chutney of
2 tsp coriander seeds
1 tsp of ginger
1 green chilli
2 tbsp grated cocunut
Little salt for taste
Eat with steamed rice or plain chapathi

2 Add Pudina leaves 1 tea cup water
Take twice or thrice a day

3 If the pain is around naval area
Grind two tsp of ajwain and dried ginger into a fine power
Add a little black salt
Take 1 tsp of this mixture with a cup of warm water frequently
To make it more effective, avoid solid food for 24 hrs while taking the above

4 If Abdominal pain due to retention of urine
Add ½ tsp camphor
1 tbsp sandalwood paste
1 tbsp warm mustard oil
Massage gently over the lower abdomen
Would cause bladder to contract and the urine to flow out

5 Take ¼ th of jathikkai and grind well andtakewith honey

6 Boil one glass of butter milk, add powder of dry ginger and kadipatta, and mix it with hot rice food and take with salt to taste. Stomach pains with or without loose motion will go.

7 Take javvarisi and boil to softness. Add it to butter milk and little salt to taste and take

8 Grind pepper, jeera and salt and take it with warm water

Stomach pain

1 Fry in ghee equal quantities of asafoetida, fenugreek, mustard seeds and turmeric powder
Grind into powder and store
Take 4 tsp with 1 cup cooked rice

2 Fry and powder fenugreek seeds; add to drinking water
Take three times for three days

3 Take the above powder of fenugreek seeds with butter milk

4 Take 1 inch piece of dried ginger and cut into small pieces and boil in
2 cup water.
Mix with milk and add sugar; Take it frequently like tea

5 Mix equal quantities of mustard powder and rice flour
Add some water and boil till paste like consistency
Spread on a hand kerchief and cover the affected part when bearably hot

6 Take neem flowers, grind and apply on the affected spot

7 Mix 1 tsp each of camphor, nutmerg, cardamom and cloves and
powder. Take 2 pinches with warm water

8 Take 1 tsp onion juice with 1 tsp honey

9 Add 1 tbsp pudina leaves to 1 cup water and take thrice a day

10 Boil 2 tbsp sounf in 1 cup water and make it half and filter
Take 1 tbsp every morning and evening for few days

11 Make a decoction of 20 tulsi leaves and take with a pinch of rock salt

12 take ¼ th of jathikkai and grind well and take with honey

13 Boil one glass of butter milk, add powder of dry ginger and kadipatta, and mix it with hot rice food and take with salt to taste. Stomach pains with or without loose motion will go.

14 Fold half tsp ajwain in a betal leaf and take

15 For children – Smear little castor oil on a betal leaf, warm it over flame and place it on the naval

16 Roast a brinjal on the fire. Add a little asafetida and take
